Mapping Turtle Island
Just My Imagination
This is a screenplay in development. Nothing is written in stone here. I have Turtle Island as the Bowser’s destination.
Sooner or later, we are going to get there.
The Bowser, if you just got here, is a research vessel (RV) following a half machine turtle towards Turtle Island. I have been thinking about the lay of the land, and how the plot turns. My mind has the ship’s cook silently in the know from the get-go, and the hard-boiled female captain in the process of transformation, I am thinking she will emerge from whatever happens on the island with some special knowledge, and this could be an ending…leaving the island a different person, as in prepared to meet some great challenge.
What the island looks like is important. Like the giant half machine turtle, it is both natural and highly technological, designed for the purpose of preparing the captain for what the cook and the turtle both know is coming, but neither is speaking.
I imagine a crew also undergoing a version of what our captain will be, I have not thought about them, beyond knowing that the captain must have a team to support her.
