IN With the Beats
I am here for the respite, yes, but there is this beat sheet to test, and then flesh out, or not. There is a short film in the following skeleton. If Laska and crew never windup turned turtle on the rocks, I am fine with that. We could have them eating big bowls of noodles, on the RV Bowser, sailing off into the sunset.
I have thought a lot about Laska’s origin and how she became the ship’s captain. But this paddle out bit, is the key to all of it, or not. I have never had to pitch a concept, but if I had to, I could whole heartedly pitch this bit:

Act I – Setup (Sitting, Burdened)

- Action: Slack gives way to incoming. She exhales, rises to stand.

10. Challenge – Beneath Highlands Bridge
- Action: Paddles upright under the bridge, meeting rip and swell.
- Emotion: Steady, resilient, confident.
11. Human Connection – Passing Yacht
- Action: After clearing the bridge, she passes a yacht. A female passenger waves.
- Emotion: Borderline euphoric, calm, assured.
