The Jersey Devil's Arrival
Eat Your Potatoes Little Girl
It is a long way from Galloway; the Shrewsbury River be. Not that the Heroin of story needed to know this then, while growing up in Little Silver at the Better Duck Inn.
Yet there is an obligation to Leeds and them, as The Jersey Devil is theirs, not ours. A great horned owl, or a baby dragon, legends are legends which thrive in the imaginations of children and those who spark them.
Perhaps being force fed cold bits of baked potatoes might invite a winged devil to the rescue of a child, but my idea of Atlantic County would not include a child from centuries ago who was not hungry. A cold potato would indeed, be a luxury.
What is cruel, what is unusual? imagined is imagined, real is real. I am fine with the backstory going back to Galloway. I am fine with them being angry with me for stealing their devil and putting her in Monmouth County.
So much to contemplate, and without a deadline. The devil is in the dialogue, so I would just as soon leave it alone. I am getting hungry.
Greetings from Galloway.
