The Man With The Mop
A Bucket full of Memes
Where have I been? Electionyearing. Three stolen memes have kept me busy on notes. Nearly swamped with trolls and following thousands of likes. I try to respond to as many as I can. Let me say this is so much easier than holding turf outside a cafe, with all the rabid right wingers regurgitating bible verses and fox news talking points. How much safer and simpler is working social media? I have never felt saner or worked cheaper. I need this breather.
The man with the mop on RV Bowser, dead in the water, cannot help but to finish mopping the galley floor. There is commotion, for certain, but there is something inside of him that refuses to yield an inch to it.
I can visualize the camera following the action, whatever we decide the Bowser has thudded up against; maybe an unknown yet creature caught up in some kind of research equipment. More Jaws like subsurface activity, but nothing to see except cables, and such moving strangely on the surface, and then despite all this commotion, our attention returns to the man with the mop, unfussed, in a Zen like state, still mopping. Or not.
The scene on deck, of course includes the captain and yet unimagined crew members, that also require names and backstories, which is why I am sticking with the man with the mop, who looks like Vonnegut, adrift in time and space. I am terrible with dialogue, but I can do abstract versions of memories all day long.
And this my friends, is all the diversion I can muster today. I hope all of you have comments and content to add. We all need moments of escapism and fantasy. We also need a whale and a draft of a screen play…because we are going to make a great movie.

Is it a half steel half bio form subsurface vessel, emerging from Atlantis, where leadership there is awaiting a return to sanity among the air breathers?
