Where Were We?
Shrimp Box Linguine
The heat is getting to me. I was trimming shrubs with my new cordless thing in the blistering heat on Tuesday, which put me in a fog yesterday. I tried to revive myself with a Capuchino, and I felt a little more with it, but still was fogged until the rare late lunch or early dinner next to Station Manasquan at the Shrimp Box got me linguine in white clam sauce.
The Shrimp Box was vacationer stuffed off hours because eating is a valid option to boardwalk wandering in the infamous Jersey humidity. Air Conditioning makes all the difference under such conditions. Eating every bit of the clams and linguine sparked me up a bit, enough to get me shaped up enough to drive south towards Lavalette in summer beach traffic.
Call it research if you must. I have for decades, guilt free, occasionally stopped for a decent late lunch for pacification purposes, at least. Sure, there is always the excuse of a meeting, but I was there for the clams and linguine.
Yes, the hunt for the white whale continues, and plans for the Better Duck Inn are progressing. I know where the story is percolating. We have no deadline. Respite from the cumulative stress of mind-numbing chaos is the primary goal of this project. Let’s not forget that.
