Respite From Connecticut

The are always looking down on us, those Connecticut folks, and there is nothing we in New Jersey can do to change that. They got a lot of whales up there, I hear. We could sure use one down here at the Better Duck Inn.

I was looking around Essex, Clinton, Westbrook…On or below the Connecticut river, and West and East (kind of) along the Long Island Sound. From where I was staying, they say you can see South Hampton in the distance. I saw something.

I saw six ospreys close together, almost floating in a good breeze, not fifty feet from me. They were not diving into the sound; they were just hanging around.

Several flew right over me, as I tried to imitate their peep. Osprey peep constantly. They looked at me and I looked at them. I did not find a whale to fund anything.

Still, there were some good locations, and lots of boats to stare at. I just drove four hours to get back. I need a respite from Connecticut.
